Unfinished Revolutions: Exploring the living legacy of 1776

Oxford Sings

Come and hear what Oxford sounds like when it sings together.

From soaring choral masterpieces to surprise pop-up performances and hands-on workshops, Oxford Sings is a day-long celebration of singing in its many forms. Whether you’re performing, listening, or just passing through, you’ll find music around every corner.

Three concerts anchor the day: a heartwarming children’s concert in the morning, the thunderous drama of Carmina Burana in the early evening, complete with its iconic opening, O Fortuna; and the day closes with a performance of The Sacred Veil by BBC Singers, conducted by Grammy Award-winning composer and conductor, Eric Whitacre.

The building will fill with song throughout the day, with free pop-up performances from local singers in the Great Hall from morning through till the evening, and workshops that let you explore song from around the world including a taste of Javanese Gamelan, Georgian Polyphony, English Folk and North Indian Bhajans.
