Exiled Writers Ink brings its acclaimed Exiled Lit Café to Oxford for a poetry performance and discussion featuring poets Leo Boix, Amir Darwish, Jennifer Langer and TK Sebastian.

Drawing on the Psalms of exile, this event explores how poetry can give voice to the despair, longing and resilience born of displacement, dispossession and alienation. Moving beyond exile as a purely geographical condition, the poets will reflect on its many layers as a deeply human experience, and how these can be expressed, transformed and reimagined through poetic form.

Established in 2000, Exiled Writers Ink works to promote the creative expression of refugees and migrants, to encourage cross-cultural dialogue, to increase their representation in the mainstream literary world and to challenge human rights abuses through literary activism. The organisation provides a platform through performance, training, creative writing workshops, mentoring, translation, publications (including Exiled Ink magazine), theatre and symposia.

Part of Day of Psalms. Writer and artist Edmund de Waal curates a unique day celebrating the Psalms as songs of exile, diaspora, and devotion.
