Explore exile, memory and belonging through shared poetry and personal stories

Explore themes of exile, loss and belonging in an interactive creative writing workshop led by poets Jennifer Langer and Leo Boix.

Drawing on the Psalms of exile and the Japanese art of kintsugi, in which broken objects are repaired with lacquer and gold dust, the workshop explores how shared stories and compassionate witnessing can help us make sense of displacement, dispossession and alienation.

Through collaborative poetry, participants will explore exile not only as a geographical experience, but also through its emotional, linguistic and personal dimensions. Together, they'll create a shared poem that brings different voices, experiences and emotions into conversation.

Guest poets will also share the contents of their 'boxes of exile', revealing objects that hold personal significance. These small collections offer a way to explore how we preserve memories, experiences and parts of our inner worlds.
