Curious about what’s inside? The Schwarzman Centre doors are wide open and you are invited.

This free-entry Saturday festival brings the building to life, celebrating the launch of our cultural programme . This is your invitation to be curious, to discover, and to enjoy the first of many visits to the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. Come with us and explore what it means to be human in a complex world.

Performances

From live music and theatre to pop-up moments in the Great Hall, performance animates the building throughout the day. Expect bold, playful and high-energy work across dance, spoken word, music and circus. You’ll find a celebration of the smash hit film K Pop Demon Hunters, cabaret from Cocoa Butter Club, poetry and spoken word from Yomi Ṣode with special guests, physical theatre and dance from local company Justice in Motion, and much more. 

Enjoy your first taste of our programme with ZooNation’s vibrant excerpt of Alice in Wonderland’s The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the theatre, or the Scottish Ensemble in Rising Sound and Impulse: Music in Motion in the concert hall, all for free.  The evening will see Artist Es Devlin and Composer Nico Muhly join forces for 360 Vessels – a choral installation created for this opening moment. 

Exhibitions & Installations

Want to explore something new? Explore immersive digital installations and encounter historical artefacts with the Bate Collection of Musical Instruments.

Talks, Tours & Activities

Curious about big ideas? Get closer to museum collections, take home a souvenir from a traditional printing press, or hear from leading academics exploring topics from myths about witchcraft to the ethics of artificial intelligence.

Films

Drop in and out of a programmeof short films screening throughout the day in our cinema.

Feeling hungry?

Take a break and refuel with fresh food and drink available across the building, from coffee and snacks to more substantial bites. Visit the Café and Coffee Bar on the ground floor, or head to the Foyer Bar in the basement.
