Justice in Motion: Common Ground

25 Apr 2026

Justice in Motion have created a specially commissioned performance, Common Ground, to be presented outside the Schwarzman Centre on the South Terrace as part of Open House.

Common Ground has been inspired by conversations with academics Dr Oliver Scott Curry, Morten Kringelbach, and Guy Kahane, as well as feedback from a diverse range of people and explores what kindness means to them. This piece features a team of impressive athletic performers using trials bikes, parkour, and physical theatre to create a riveting outdoor display.

A brand new show, offering a powerful and visually striking experience that reflects Justice in Motion's distinctive, socially engaged style.

After the show outside on the South Terrace, step inside the Schwarzman Centre and join us to explore more about what it means to be human in a complex world.

Shows at 11:45, 14:00, 16:00. Just drop in.

Part of Open House, a free festival day of performances and events open to everyone.

About Justice in Motion

Justice in Motion (JIM) creates bold, visually striking performances that blend dance, theatre, parkour, aerial acrobatics, film and music. JIM draw audiences into stories that are often hidden from view - stories of people affected by injustice - giving voice to the voiceless.

Working with academic, business and charity partners, JIM research deeply to understand the realities behind the stories we share. The work invites conversations around social justice in its widest sense - from freedom, health and safety to the ability to grow, create and thrive.

Beyond the shows, JIM connect with people through talks, exhibitions, workshops and residencies. Creating spaces where audiences, young people, artists and communities can explore ideas, develop skills and experience the power of physical expression.

JIM aim to be a leading force in physical theatre - using high-quality, dynamic work to raise awareness about injustices, inspire debate and spark meaningful change.

When you experience the work, you won’t just be entertained - you’ll discover new perspectives, deepen your understanding and perhaps even be moved to take action.

Alone, we may not change the world. But together, we can be a force for good.
