Commune in, make yourself at home

Presented by Fuaad (Foo) Coovadia

Written and performed by award-winning comedian and Oxford student Foo, Commune In, Make Yourself at Home was named runner-up in this year's student theatre making prize. The show tells the story of a South African comedian and social science researcher who leaves Oxford for the Pacific Northwest to live with three intentional communities and investigate alternative ways of living together.

Part stand-up, part storytelling, the show follows a journey through shared living, utopian experiments and the strange things the rest of us have come to accept as normal about work, housing and home.

Warm, playful and curious, Commune in is written and performed by award-winning comedian Foo (Chortle Student Comedy Award Winner, Shortlisted for BBC New Comedy Award).

In Search Of

Presented by Kapil Narain, Soham Yelwande and Leo Maudsley-Barton

Devised and directed by Leo Maudsley-Barton and Soham Yelwande and produced by Kapil Narain, winner of the 2026 student theatre making prize In Search Of explores questions of identity, privilege and belonging through the stories of three students navigating life in Oxford. Over the course of one night, from the candlelight of a college formal to the fluorescent glow of a kebab van, they try to answer the question: where do you belong?

Each student carries a different Oxford: for one, an inheritance; for another, a performance; for the third, a place they are still waiting to be let into. As the night wears thin, so do the stories they tell about themselves, revealing the quiet arithmetic of who is welcomed, who pays, and who is simply assumed to belong. For the first time, they are truly seen.

In Search Of unapologetically examines the human experience, with the breadth and depth of perspectives amongst Oxford students serving as a microcosm: what we inherit, what we earn, and what it costs us not to look.

Utopia is different depending on where you stand, and on who gave you the ground. Come and stand somewhere else. Just for a night.
