Welcome to Untitled: the magazine for the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. A space to think, to challenge — perhaps to be challenged — and, chiefly, to be part of our growing community. 

Untitled amplifies the Centre’s vision of bringing together academia, creativity, and culture to think in new ways about the big questions facing humanity. It aims to feed curiosity and what it means to be human, and to ensure the Centre’s many different voices are heard. It delves beneath the surface of the Centre exploring what motivates us and why, spotlighting the people who spend their days deepening our understanding of the human experience.

Why Untitled? Because we want you, our readers, to shape the magazine’s future, sharing the topics that capture your imaginations so we can explore the questions that interest and excite you. It will grow and evolve into a title of your choosing.

As Dame Hermione Lee, author/biographer and former President of Wolfson College said,

“Why should we invest in the humanities? Because we’re human.”

We invite you to browse, read and share Untitled, and to ponder over the many varied viewpoints explored. More importantly, we urge you to enjoy and be inspired by it — and to make up your own minds.
