Join us for an exclusive alumni drinks reception and a special discussion with Wes Williams, Professor of French Literature and Tutor in Modern Languages, as part of the Day of Psalms celebrations.

Professor Wes Williams will explore the central role the Psalms played in the creativity, change and conflict of the Renaissance. Drawing on significant moments in the Psalms’ contested history, the talk will consider how they were translated, interpreted and adapted across the early modern world and how these interventions shaped the cultural and religious landscape of the period.

The event begins at 3pm with a welcome drink, followed by Professor Wes Williams’ talk. The event will finish at 4pm, leaving you time to enjoy the other performances taking place that day.

Please note that this ticket is for the alumni talk only and does not include admission to the Aurora Orchestra: Bernstein & Bach performance. Tickets for the performance must be purchased separately.

Duration: 1 hour

Please note that this ticket is for the pre-performance discussion only and does not include admission to the performance of Aurora Orchestra: Bernstein & Bach.
