Billy Barrett

Director

Billy is a writer, theatre director and the co-Artistic Director of Breach. He is the current Resident Director at the National Theatre Studio. Billy's directing work includes After the Act (Royal Court, UK Tour), a verbatim musical about the homophobic legislation Section 28, and It’s True, It’s True, It’s True (New Diorama Theatre, UK Tour, BBC4) a courtroom drama re-staging a 17th Century rape trial.

Billy has directed devised work and musicals at drama schools including RADA, Mountview and Guildhall. He often leads workshops on devised and documentary theatre, most recently for the National Theatre and the Old Vic Theatre. He is a Mentor Director for the National Theatre's Connections programme.
