Journalist and broadcaster Samira Ahmed hosts a compelling series of conversations exploring how arts and culture are responding to urgent global challenges.

A leading voice on culture, politics and social change, Samira brings her award-winning documentary experience and insight to three thought-provoking events.

Samira will be joined by cultural figures (to be announced), along with Oxford academics, to explore how AI is transforming creative practice. From generative tools to algorithmic collaboration, the conversation will examine how artists are experimenting with new technologies, and what remains uniquely human in the act of creation.

Two further events include:

12 May: Music, Democracy and Resistance
From protest songs to revolutionary anthems, music has long played a vital role in democratic movements and resistance. Samira is joined by renowned musicians, artists and Professor Nomi Dave to explore how music has shaped, and been shaped by, struggles for freedom and justice across continents and styles.

17 June: Stage and Screen: Power and Performance
Samira will be joined by leading actors, creatives and Professor Emma Smith for a powerful conversation about representation in theatre and film. From interpreting Shakespeare to shaping contemporary performance, the discussion will explore how artists are approaching the portrayal of humanity on stage and screen.
