To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, join Afua Hirsch and Peter Frankopan for a special live recording of the Legacy Podcast at the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities.

In this one-off event, Afua and Peter explore the dramatic story behind 1776: the arguments, ideals and contradictions that gave birth to the United States.

Who really shaped the Declaration? What did liberty mean to those who wrote it - and to those it left out? And how has the language of independence echoed around the world ever since?

Expect a lively conversation, surprising historical twists and the chance to see the making of Legacy in real time. The evening will also include audience Q&A and behind-the-scenes insights into how the podcast is made.

Whether you love history, politics or great storytelling, this is a rare opportunity to experience Legacy live in Oxford.
