Alternating Current is a suggested meeting point between polarised charges. Between safety, confinement, and freedom. The installation examines the notion of a “safe room” through realising a kinetic structure. The structure shields its interior from external electromagnetic signals, such as radio waves, 5G, and Wi-Fi.

The liveliness of things that appear in this installation calls for a perspectival shift. All forms of existence, including those perceived as objects, are connected and vibrant. These entities emerge as emancipated presences, not serving as passive matter but animated by relations rather than domination.

As the humanities grapple with questions of digital saturation, artificial intelligence, and post-human theory, the installation translates these debates into a spatial experience and extends an invitation to move through pathways of doubt and encounter.

This exhibition is a collaboration between the Cultural Programme and the Ruskin School of Art.

Suitable for all ages.
