Retractable screen behind stage

• Screen sits downstage, behind the balcony choir stalls. Please note, it’s retractable but not movable. 

Stage dimensions 

• Width: Front of stage 14.5m max; stage narrows downstage to c.12m
• Depth: 9.5m (12m with extension and reduction in audience seats) 

3 nested risers 

• Rear: 1.5m depth, curves to front edge of smallest riser
• Mid: 1.2m depth, surrounded by 3m total of other riser (so c. 10m usable width)
• Front: 1.2m depth, nested with other risers. 1.2m depth, 8.1m at front of riser 

Orchestra capacity

• For optimum acoustics, the hall is designed to hold an orchestra of 60. The stage can accommodate 10-20% more, depending on instrumentation and layout, but this does compromise acoustic quality. 
  Pit: 3.5m x c. 11m incl. access lift footprint 
  Estimated space c. 15-20 players (lower end if strings)
• Choir stalls = 35 + 1 wheelchair space, +20 with seats curving around stage L/R. If a choir needs to use these seats, it removes them from audience capacity.
