His theatrical practice explores voices silenced by history, addressing issues of identity, resistance, and human rights.

He is the author of Cuerpos Desahuciados por el Olvido, a play that sheds light on the impact of the armed conflict in Colombia on the LGBTIQ+ community. Through this work, he has participated in national Queer arts gatherings and exhibitions focused on peacebuilding and reconciliation processes.

Through his dramaturgy, Jhonnathan Velásquez has established himself as a creator committed to social transformation, using theatre as a tool for memory, reflection, and change.
