Emma Pritchard (they/she) is a DPhil Candidate in Sociology at the University of Oxford, she has an MA in Conflict Resolution from the University of Bradford, and prior to beginning doctoral studies worked in the human rights, peace, and development sectors. Their doctoral research focuses on LGBTIQ+ storytelling after conflict, contrasting state-sponsored processes with community-led artistic responses to violence and discrimination. This project builds on their fieldwork in Colombia, which was funded by a Leverhulme Study Abroad Studentship, where they explored how the LGBTIQ+ community in the country use different forms of storytelling, including theatre, music, and art, to claim their human rights, and argue for full participation in society. The project reflects her commitment queering the boundaries between research, art, and activism, building coalitions for justice and human rights.

Recent publications include "‘Si no hay datos, no hay abuso’: LGBTIQ+ inclusion and agency in truth commissions." International affairs, and “Queering Humanitarian Response Through LGBITQ+ People’s Expertise” with Jamie Hagan and Anupama Ranawana in Knowledge and Expertise in International Politics: A Handbook.
