Membership terms and conditions

Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:

“Schwarzman Centre”, “we”, “us”, “our” means the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities.
“Member”, “you”, “your” means the individual who has purchased a Membership.
“Membership” means the subscription purchased by a Member which entitles them to the associated benefits for a fixed period of 12 months, unless otherwise stated.
“Benefits” means the services, discounts, offers and privileges available to Members, which may vary depending on membership level.
“Cooling-off period” means the 14-day period beginning on the date a Membership is purchased online.

Governing law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Your membership

Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of joining and is non-transferable.
Membership will continue an annual basis as long as annual payments are made and unless membership is terminated in line with these T&C’s.
Membership benefits may include priority booking, member-only ticket offers, behind-the-scenes content, invitations to special events, and other offers as outlined at the time of purchase.
Benefits may vary depending on the level of membership purchased.
Benefits are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or altered at the discretion of the Schwarzman Centre.
Membership is for individuals only and cannot be shared or used by others. Proof of your membership must be presented to access benefits.
Monthly memberships are on a rolling monthly basis and will cease if membership is cancelled or payment is not received

What your membership includes

Each level of membership has a different set of benefits, as listed on our website. Please refer to the membership page to see what your level includes.
We reserve the right to change or withdraw benefits at any time. Any changes will be communicated in advance where possible.

Paying for your membership

Payment is required in full at the time of joining.
Membership upgrades are valid for the remainder of the current membership year. We charge the full price difference (not pro-rata), and benefits start immediately upon upgrade.
Membership fees are subject to change. We will notify you in advance of any changes before your next renewal.

Events and experiences

We’ll do our best to give you access to special events and priority booking. However, places are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Events may occasionally be open to patrons and members only, regardless of membership type. If guests are permitted, it will be specified in the event details. We ask that you arrive promptly and let us know if you're delayed.
We may refuse entry to events if late arrival would disrupt others.

Cancellations and refunds

You have the right to cancel your Membership within the Cooling-off period if the membership is purchased online.
A member may cancel their membership at any time for any reason.
No refund, full nor partial will be given in the event of a cancelled membership.
If you cancel but have used benefits within the Cooling-off period, we may deduct the value of those Benefits from your refund.
The member must give 14 days written notice of cancellation. Any benefit accrued but not yet used will be cancelled.
Memberships are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for credit or other services.

Gift Memberships

Gift Memberships are available for purchase and are subject to these Terms and Conditions.
The recipient of a Gift Membership will be required to activate their Membership before they can access benefits.
The Cooling-off period applies to the purchaser of the Gift Membership. Refunds can only be given if no benefits have been used by the recipient during the Cooling-off period.
Gift Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of activation unless otherwise specified.

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and your membership is covered under our Privacy Policy.
In becoming a Member, you consent to receiving Membership communications from the Schwarzman Centre.
